On Saturday October 8 in Astoria, the League of Intertidal Writers will host a writing workshop, “The Inspiration of Sometimes a Great Notion,” based on the novel. Since its publication in 1964, it has achieved classic and cult status. Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey rates as perhaps the greatest novel set in the Pacific Northwest.
